How do you use the stories of your life to power change?
Hestia is the Greek goddess of whom almost no stories are written, whereas Hermes represents the force of change and motion in every story ever written. In this introductory workshop, experience:
- Hestia’s powerful ‘holding of all ground’ in your body--specifically in your pelvic bowl and your heart--turning your life experience into the fuel for transformation.
- Hermes's ability to keep your mind curious rather than controlling, thereby powering your digestion of life events.
This two hour experiential class will focus on
- Hestia and Hermes as the two foundational forces in our world.
- The importance of recognizing our mineral, plant, and animal bodies and what they teach us about the cycles of life and death.
- Contrasting the Hestian nature of the pelvic bowl and heart with the Hermetic nature of the nervous and digestive systems.
- A simple breathing and meditation technique to help compost and digest the stress and trauma of our lives to nourish opportunities for change.
- Plenty of time for internal exploration and opportunities for group discussion and integration.
Date: Wednesday June 11th
Time: 12-2 pm
Cost: $20
This class is both an introduction and preview to the ways that astrology, myth, and bodily experience can be woven together to create alchemical change. A subsequent, more comprehensive workshop will build on these principles to include:
- Deeper dive into your personal astrology related to 30 year cycles of the Sun and Moon, as well as the archetypes described in the myth of Demeter and Persephone.
- Practical work with Hestia and Hermes to strengthen your intuition.
- The mythic origination of our fractured Western health care and how communicating with plants can help you heal.
- Meditation and breathing strategies to connect to natural ('dark feminine') power that is innate to both women and men.
